This is all about the much awaited holidays I was expecting since a very long time . As already 7 months have been passed after I came here and I was very exited to meet my family and friends.
Although I really enjoyed my stay here till now, but as the time passes away the eagerness will go on increasing to go to your home-town and meet your belongings.
My journey started from London-Heathrow and and let me tell you my journey was really horrible this time.My hometown is in City of Lakes "Bhopal" but unfortunately there is no international airport in Bhopal.So it was confirmed that I have to catch a domestic flight after I enters in India.
It would have very good for me if I could catch that flight from Mumbai.But my flight from London was booked already at the time I came here but still there was some chances as we can reschedule the flight from any other city.But again here another height with me that flight cant be rescheduled to Mumbai as it only travels from London to Bangalore.
One more hit ... the flight was not a direct flight from Heathrow to Bangalore.It goes like this
Heathrow --- > Colombo Colombo ---> Banbalore
Let me tell you the flight in which I was travelling was Srilankan Airlines and there was even no
source of enjoyment as the air-hostesses are all Srilankan and you can imagine how the Srilankan hostess looks like.... just see their dressess .... The only thing left for enjoyment was the small television set in front of my seat.
I was just concentrating to watch a movie onto that but again this time a child started annoying all the passengers in the flight.These kind of things keeps on going in my flight.
Then comes the drinks and food.This time I was well prepared to drink the beers and have a good sleep.But they served only apple and orange juice.Even food was not having good choices.
With food they served what is needed like wine,whiskey,vodka,coke but I cant see beers there.
At last I have ordered Chardonnay (White wine).
After food I was trying to sleep and just took a small snap and as my eyes opens up I was wondering -- how come night has gone so fast. I was just slept for 2-3hours and it was morning and they came with the breakfast ready.What the hell ..... Later I came to know that its was due to the time difference in India and UK.
An this was not enough.After sometime they announced that instead of going to Colombo flight has been redirected to Maldives due to some reasons.Although it was a nice scene while plane was landing but even though flight was getting late.This was a 1 hour halt at Maldives.
Now flight takes off from Maldives and at last I landed in Colombo after 1.5 hours.
In Colombo I have to wait for nearly 4 hours.Just wandering there on airport to pass the time ...
I went inside a coffee shop for tea ... I asked for a cup of tea ...they asked me Rs 200 ..that was not the problem for me as I was having both currency Indian rupees as well as UK pounds.So I took off my Rs 200 (indian) and pass it on to the bearer.Again now here another problem.. he asked me to give Srilankan currency or US dollar ...I said i dont have any one of them and asked to give him pound .. now what he replied is ... Yes I can accept uk pound but only in notes we dont expect coins and that was costing 3.8£ and what he told was I will be giving the remaining amount in dollars otherwise give me the change in notes .. but there is no notes of 3.8£ so cant give him ..and I was not in mood to have dollar as the balance amount.At last I refused to have that small ,small ,small cup of tea..so even getting a small cup of tea was quite difficult for me.
Now I got bored after sometime and just thinking what to do .. suddenly got an idea as I had laptop with me ..I can start surfing and chatting from the airport ..just took off my laptop from the bag and start searching for the wireless connections. got lots of wifi connections available and connected to one of them ..First page I opened was google.com and it worked ... I was very glad ..that I will be able to surf now .. next page I opened gmail.com ..oh god . it starts asking for buying a package to use further wifi connection for minimum of 1 hour... crap!!!!
Now comes the time to fly from Colombo to Bangalore ... which was nearly 1.5hr journey..Got to bangalore at 8 pm (Indian time).Now starts the journey of domestic flights.here i have to wait for
3.5 hours at the airport. ... Anyhow i spend the time there and caught the flight (Jet Airways this time) for Mumbai at 11:30 and gets off at 1:30.Now again I have to wait at Mumbai airport till 5:30 in the morning.
Next problem was I have to Inform my parent that I reached Mumbai airport... there was no STD -PCO on the airport .only the coin phones was there and that too excepts only 1 Rupee coin ... fortunately I got single 1-Rupee coin tried with that ... got connected to home and Mom picked up the phone but my voice was not going there so the only 1-Rupee coin I was having gets wasted.I was having some more coins but all of them was 2 Rupee coins and in the meantime the other persons standing the queue was asking me ..... 'Hey do you have 1 Rupee coins' as they have seen some coins in my hand ..but all of them was 2 Rupee coins. .. but those persons keeps annonying me ....Already I was bit tensed .. then I tried internet ..it was the free Internet .but needs one time activation which can be done by just sending a sms to the no mentioned..but again as I came from UK I was not having mobile which can work in India ...so no way to SMS..
Now what to do .. Then just asked the person sitting beside me to send the sms to the no and this is how I got the access to internet there and informed to my parents about my arrival...
But that activation was for one hour only and after that again I have to send the sms to activate it .. so anyhow after one hour I have to stop doing all these surfing and chatting ..no other means left I have to spend time till morning ..
Somehow I managed to spent this time and gone for the checking in the morning 4 'O Clock and my baggages was safely checked in.But I noticed that my flight was delayed 2.5 hours ....again CRAP !!!!!
So reached home by 10'O clock in the morning ..This was the journey I covered from UK - Bhopal....
Heathrow ---> Maldives
Maldives ---> Colombo
Colombo ----> Bangalore
Bangalore ----> Mumbai
Mumbai ----> Bhopal
Which took more than 24 hours in total.........
